Revival Journey

Start Today's Journey with Prayer

“Father, there are so many voices that compete for my attention. I can easily get distracted from time alone with You in Your Word. Thank You for this moment alone with You right now. Please speak to me from Your Word.”

Read God's Word

Psalm 1

"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night.

He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish."

Respond to What God Has Said

Write down your responses to the following questions:

  • According to Psalm 1, what must you do in order for your life to prosper?

  • How often should you meditate (set your mind) on God’s Word

  • Contrast the righteous and the wicked in this passage.

  • List two things you can do to increase your intake of God’s Word.

Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16).

This means that you immerse yourself in the Scriptures. It means that you spend time learning what God is like so you can recognize His character and know His voice when He speaks to you. It means that you meditate on the commands of Christ so that His ways become yours. It means that you heed the warnings the Bible issues. It means that you submit to God as your King, and love Him as your Father.

Remember, this can only be done as the Holy Spirit lives in you and empowers you to live in Christ. Continue to rest in Him as He lives through you.

End Today's Journey with Prayer

“Father, help me read Your Word every day, not for more knowledge, but to hear from You. Show me the incredible value of a lifelong devotion to listening to You through Your Word, and give me the grace to apply and follow the truth You are showing me each day."
